What a performance from our U14 boys who beat Dolphin at the Farm on Saturday to win the U14 league final.
Leading 10-0 at half time after two great tries by Rory Dolan out wide, the boys had a big job to do in the second half into a big wind which favoured Dolphin.
An early second half try scored by Liam Treacy and conversion was the perfect start, but they had to dig deep and defend as the inevitable fight back came. After a Dolphin try the boys defence never let up and they even went up the pitch and scored another - a hat trick try for Rory Dolan with another excellent wide move finished near the corner.
While going forward the boys looked assured and confident, with some great handling and fabulous inventive rugby, it was their defence which stood out. This was a big Dolphin side who had beaten our boys in the league campaign. But the boys stood up and proved that good defence can stop big runners. A credit to them.
Final score 22-7. What a performance from a great team ππππ
This team lost out last season at the same stage, and were pipped in the U12 World Cup final in France by an excellent New Zealand side. They have deserved a big trophy for some time, so itβs great to see them get one!
