South Munster U16s League
Sat 28th Oct
Home v Sunday’s Well
Kinsale U16s kept their unbeaten record intact today with a 29-17 win over The Well. They top Pool D and so qualify for Phase 2 of the South Munster League, to start at the end of December.
The 16s continue to play an attractive, and effective, brand of fast, running rugby. With tries from captain Dylan Mullen, prop Fionn Aherne and outside centre Ben O’Reilly, and a conversion from Cathal O’Leary, Kinsale led 17-5 at half-time.
Inside centre Zach Allen made it 4 tries after a mazy run, beating several defenders. And finally fullback David Looney ran a lovely support line to finish off a move that initiated in the Kinsale half.
Kinsale meet Muskerry and Cobh in the Phase 2 round robin, the winner of which qualifies for the final.
The South Munster League breaks now till end of December.
Next Sat, our 16s play Bantry in the first game of Conference 3 of the Munster Clubs competition.
7 teams in the conference, top 3 qualify for the Munster Clubs Cup (the so-called Pan-Munster Cup).
