Kinsale Rugby Club are excited to announce the appointment of Cian Bohane as assistant coach for the 2017/18 season. Cian join’s new head coach Wayne Falvey’s coaching set-up after an accomplished career as a player.
After School Rugby at Presentation Brothers, Cian made his senior rugby debut at Dolphin in division 1A. His performances led to Cian signing for the Munster Academy in 2011, progressing to the senior side in 2013, making his senior debut against Zebre in the same season.
Cian’s most recent success involved captaining the Munster A team to winning the British and Irish Cup in 2017 before retiring to focus on his studies, having signed with UCC to continue his career at an amateur level.
Cian was attracted to Kinsale RFC because of the vision and direction of the club, stating that “the focus on the culture and community approach of the club appealed to me hugely and I’m looking forward to helping Kinsale become a successful community based club”. Also, the opportunity to work with Wayne Falvey and the players proved too exciting an opportunity for Cian to pass up.
Our club are excited by our new young coaching team, and welcome them to Kinsale and we hoping that Wayne and Cian can deliver success for Kinsale RFC, both on and off the pitch.
(Reminder that Pre-season kicks off Tuesday 1st of August at 7pm.)
