Bandon beat Development side

The Development fifteen had a Good Friday outing in Old Chapel Bandon for the j2 shield but it turned out to be a loss, the game kicking off at six in the evening but alas most eyes were fixed on the evening’s game up in Limerick. Kinsale played with great endeavour and passion as did Bandon but as a spectacle it wasn’t much to write home about. Both teams’ seasons have been poor to average and this was somewhat a curtain closer for many participants. Kinsale had a huge problem in their ability to win lineout ball with Bandon reading and stealing many. Both back lines were equally matched and it seemed like the game would be a tight narrow affair and so it turned out with a solitary kick separating the teams at the death 6-8. Kinsale know they could have played better and to be fair were well disciplined throughout this tie Bandon receiving two yellows which seemed harsh but the ref was consistent with his decisions. So the question remains are the Development fifteen developing and yes would have to be the answer, ok poor results and ill discipline have plagued them this season but many players are new and learning. If the squad can remain largely intact the coming season should prove a more fruitful one, one must be aware this season is the first were the development side compete in j2 south so a respectable and realistic season was had they still have another cup completion in the Bowl so it’s not over yet........
