Sunday 7th saw Kinsale travel to Fermoy in the J3 League. This was a very important game in the context of the competition. The game was played on a very heavy pitch leading to a very tough physical encounter. Kinsale played all their rugby in the first half, running in 2 fine tries from Dave O'Mahony and Joe Lyons with Lloyd Darmody adding a conversion and a penalty to make the score 15-0 at half time. The second half was a dogged affair with Kinsale excelling in defence keeping a determined Fermoy team at bay. Fine individual performances from Billy Kiely, Joe Lyons and Ian Connolly provided a platform for Kinsale to hold out deserved winners, 15 nil. Man of the Match was Billy Kiely. Next Fixture Sunday 14th sees the penultimate league game versus Ballincollig in Tanner Park. Kick Off time to be confirmed.
