USA TOUR 2009

38 brave souls take to air in May 09 on our first US tour. Our first stop is Boston, where we will play our first game against Mystic River Rugby on 20th May 2009, at 6.30pm (EST). We would like to extend a huge thanks to Rick Rudolf of Mystic RFC for all his help in arranging the fixture. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the fixture (and the twinning of Kinsale and Newport) Kinsale and Newport RFC will take to the field in Fort Adams on Saturday the 23rd at 4.00pm (EST). Again, a huge thank you to all involved in Newport RFC in arranging the fixture especially incoming president Pat Cranson and outgoing club President Greg O’Shea and Rick O’Neill, of the city of Newport, for their constant support and help. Shawn Mahoney and Kevin Bruneau also deserve a huge thanks for their work with both Kinsale and Newport touring committes. This years game will see the teams battling for the inaugural year of the Paul Crowley Cup, in honour of the late Paul Crowley who was instrumental developing relations between Kinsale and Newport.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Paul Shea (Tour Captain 09) for all his help and hard work in the organisation of the 09 Tour (including volunteering to chauffeur the President around while in Newport!!). Many thanks to Paul. We look forward to meeting all the Kinsale people now living in Boston and all the New England locals that may have visited us in Kinsale at one time or another.
